Yes We (Still) Can: Politics in the Age of Obama, Twitter, and Trump

by

Dan Pfeiffer is the former White House communications director for President Barack Obama, as well as one of Obama's campaign staffers. Currently, he is one of the four hosts of Pod Save America, one of the best politics podcasts out there. Pfeiffer tells us the story of his adventure through the Obama campaign in a footnote-heavy (but hilarious) style that sounds like Dan is just talking to us on a podcast. It's funny, it's witty, it's depressing and sad, but uplifting and hopeful. Pfeiffer makes the case that although Obama was incredible and Trump is a dump, there's still hope. He lays out concrete ideas and strategies for Democrats to continue on in the face of this awful administration. It's a quick and easy read, and I plowed through it in two days of commuting. It's very enjoyable, so if you're into politics, pick it up.
